Possible solutions are white chalkdust and some water in a 3:2 ratio, (that's three parts dust and two parts water.) lime and water, soy powder and water, acrylic undercoat from the hardware store, matte medium or gelatin. all of these are powders of some sorts, i think the best ratio is the 3:2 mentioned earlier.
