Equation of a line y = mx + c

m = gradient

y = 2x - 4

Comparing with the above equation

Gradient = 2

Since the lines are parallel their gradients are also the same

Equation of the line using point

(3 , 5) and gradient = 2

y - 5 = 2(x - 3)

y - 5 = 2x - 6

y = 2x - 6 + 5

y = 2x - 1

The final answer is y = 2x - 1
