EXPLANATION:

“No Dogs Barks” is a short story written by Juan Rulfo. The story is about a father and his son where the father asks his son whether he hears something or not. The son, named Ignacio was being carried in a sitting position on his father’s shoulders. They were on the way to a place named Tonaya. Ignacio’s father during their way to Tonaya, always asks whether Ignacio hears a dog barks or not. Yet, Ignacio always says that he doesn’t hear or see anything. Due to Ignacio’s answer, his father then concludes that they must be getting close to the place where they head-on. During their journey, Ignacio’s father tells about the past story, including about how Ignacio’s mother dies.

The poem “Two Bodies” was written by Octavio Paz. It is a poem about two people, where it may be a lover and their relationship to nature. The poem is opened by, “Two bodies face to face, Are at times two waves, And the night is an ocean.” Throughout the poem, Octavio Paz uses metaphors in each of the stanzas to describe the relationship between both two people. Each aspect of the relationship is accompanied by a different relationship to the universe. The word “night” in that poem describes how the relationship of both people is a fate that cannot be changed.
