y=2x has a rise of 2 and a run of 1 ( goes up two and over one)

to find use the change in slope formula (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) that are on the line

I used (0,0), (1,2)

(2-0)/(1-0)

2/1

your change in slope is 2

To find the y-intercept which is b you have to enter the point (-2,3) into the original equation

y=2x+b

3=2(-2)+b

3=-4+b

3+4=b

7=b

therefore your final equation is y=2x+7
