Answer:
1. Mechanics: Mechanic deals with the motion of objects. In real life, mechanic is used in determine the speed of an object a car in motion, a rocket projected into space, a jogging or walking man, etc.
2. Heat: Heat is a form of energy transferred due to the difference in temperature of two bodies. Heat flows from the hotter to the colder body always. The study of heat as been useful in the ares of cooking, power generation, energy derived from the food we eat etc.
3. Sound: Sound is due to vibrations of molecules. Sound energy travel in the form of waves through a medium from one body to another. The study of sound in physics is called acoustic physics, and it has been employed in the media houses like theaters and cinemas, and is also used in medical aids that assists hearing. Other real life phenomena include been able to hear myself type on my keyboard right now, and our ability to talk to and hear each other.
4. Light: Light is a form of energy, transmitted as an electromagnetic wave. Light wave has its unique wavelength in the e-m wave spectrum. Light helps us see things that we see by bouncing off of those things into our eyes. The eye is the only body organ that can be used to detect light. Study of light is useful in lighting technologies used at home and in other places. Light is very important in our daily lives.
5. Electricity and magnetism: Electricity is a phenomenon that results from the movement or flow of electrons through or from one body to another due to the presence of electric field around the body. Magnetism is an interaction between bodies is produced by a magnetic field around these bodies. These two phenomena has been known to be reversible and can each produce the other. Electricity is obviously used in our homes to power almost everything, generate magnetism, heat our homes etc. Magnetism is used in lifting in metal industries, used in generating electricity and is even used in our speakers to produce sound.
6. Atomic physics: Atomic physics studies atoms as an isolated system of electrons and an atomic nucleus. It studies the arrangement of electrons around the nucleus and the change brought about with changes to this arrangement. The study of atomic physic is most importantly utilized in the medical field for advanced diagnostic machines like the MRI.
7. Nuclear physics: This branch of physics studies the activities within the nucleus of an atom. It also studies the structures within the nucleus and the activities that produce these changes and the effect of these changes. The generation of electricity and the production of nuclear and atomic weapons are all thanks to nuclear physics.
8. Plasma physic: Plasma physics studies plasma, a state of matter comprised of charged particles. Plasmas are usually created by heating a gas until the electrons become detached from their parent atom or molecule. Plasma physics assisted with the understanding of some activities within our atmosphere like lightning and other phenomena like the northern and southern sky lights.
9. Geophysics: Geophysics studies physical activities within the earth's crust. Geophysics has been instrumental in deep earth mineral exploration for mining and petroleum industries, and also has been vital for the generation of electricity by geothermal means.
