For J (2, -1), K (2, 5)
$d= \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)} \\ = \sqrt{(2 - 2)^2+(5-(-1))^2} \\ = \sqrt{0^2+(5+1)^2} = \sqrt{6^2} \\ = \sqrt{36} =6$

For L (10, 14), M (-8, 14)
 $d= \sqrt{(-8 - 10)^2+(14-14))^2} \\ = \sqrt{(-18)^2+0^2} = \sqrt{324} \\ = 18$
