Hey there! I'm happy to help you out!
A: CONQUISTADORS
A conquistador was basically an explorer and conqueror, and most of them were usually from Spain. They would sail to the Americas and conquer places that had many native groups such as the Aztecs and Incas. Some examples of conquistadors include Pizarro and Cortes.
B: CIRCUMNAVIGATE
The prefix circum- means around. So, the word circumnavigate literally means to navigate around something, which, in the context of exploration means to travel all the way around the earth. This is what Magellan's expedition is famous for.
C: PLANTATION
A plantation is basically a piece of land where people that are there (usually slaves) help to cultivate many crops such as sugar, tobacco, cotton, coffee, etc. This was most likely very prominent during the triangular trade.
D: CASH CROPS
A cash crop is really self explanatory; it is a crop that people grow to make money off of because it's valuable! They don't keep the crop for themselves; they simply grow it so they can make a buck! Some examples of cash crops included tobacco, sugars, spices, and more.
E: MERCANTILISM
Mercantilism was a concept based on increasing the exports of a country, or, in other words, selling tons of stuff. This is where things like cash crops and plantations came in handy because the more resources people could produce and sell, the better! This would lead to a higher gross domestic product and more wealth for a country, so this was a system that was heavily used during the Age of Exploration!
F: COMMERCE
Commerce is basically trade but on a global scale. It has to do with buying and selling goods and services, and with a lot of new land and resources being discovered, commerce was most likely very prominent during this time.
G: ENTREPRENEUR
An entrepreneur is someone who sets up a business. During the Age of Exploration, there were a lot of new things being discovered, so many people definitely were entrepreneurs and set up businesses involving exploration and the things found on them.
H: COTTAGE INDUSTRY
A cottage industry was basically a company that didn't have its own separate building so all of its operations were done in someone's house. Teaching piano lessons to neighborhood students in your living room is a cottage industry. If women quilted blankets at home for their manufacturing business, that would also be a cottage industry. In new lands that were discovered, it would have been pretty inconvenient to build a giant plant right away, so people would usually carry out business in their own homes.
I hope that this helps! Have a wonderful day! :D
