How does water get to the leaves in the tops of the tallest trees against the force of gravity. Name the property responsible for this and explain how it works.

Respuesta :

Because water has high surface tension and cohesion.  the water molecules go up due to the forces of attraction

Water gets to the leaves in the tops of the highest trees by something called the cohesion-tension theory. Water has two very different properties called adhesion and cohesion. Attachment is the tendency of water molecules to stick together with one another. The water sticks together, giving no room for air, strengthening the "force" of the water going up the tree. The water also continues to the sides of the xylem inside the tree. In appreciation to these businesses, there are also the factors of negative and positive water potential. For more knowledge, look up more details on the cohesion-tension theory.
