The loop of Henlē reabsorbs most of the water present in the glomerula filtrate . Then the distal convoluted tubule , based on how much water is present in the blood of the organism , would reabsorb more water if necessary . This is done when the hypothalamus in the brain detects the water concentration and the pituitary gland secretes a hormone called Anti Diuretic Hormone (ADH) . ADH prevents water from being reabsorbed. If there is little water in the body , more ADH would be secreted . If there is a lot of water , less ADH would be secreted .
The part of the nephron that conserves water and minimizes the volume of urine is the loop of Henle. This loop is a U-shaped portion of the tubule that conducts urine within each nephron of the kidney. Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.
