I am American, so I am assuming people from other countries are calling us this? I have never heard that description being used in the United States. However, I am assuming that the name comes from our history or how we act. For example, Americans are stereotyped as ignorant, Hawaiian shirt-wearing tourists. Of course, that is a hasty generalization, not everyone acts like that. Maybe we are described like dragons/demons because we have been involved in many foreign conflicts?
