Answer:

George Washington was determined because he knew US could win and he believed in his country and know he could lead them to victory. He showed determination at the Battle of Saratoga even if he wasn't commanding there and the Siege of New York the last battle of the war  and defeating German Hessians in the battle of Trenton and Princeton.
