(f · g)(x) = f(x) · g(x)

f(x) = 3x + 2; g(x) = x^2 + 1

(f · g)(x) = (3x + 2)(x^2 + 1) = 3x^3 + 3x + 2x^2 + 2 = 3x^3 + 2x^2 + 3x + 2
