You are in a pit crew for a driver at a Nascar race. The gas weighs 5.92 pounds per gallon. Your driver uses 0.25 gallon per lap. With 42 laps to go, you put 60 pounds of fuel in the tank of the car. Will your driver finish the race at the same rate without more gas?

well first you have to figure out how many gallons are in 60 lbs of fuel. so its 60 divided by 5.92 which is 10.13 gallons.. And you use 0.25 gallons per lap woth 42 to go. 0.25 times 42 is 10.5. so you need 10.5 gallons to finnish the race and you only put 10.13 gallons in the tank. so you will not fininish the race with enough gas.. i hope this helps!:)
