Collectivism lay emphasis on individual's obligation towards social organization. In a collectivist culture, people are likely to experience family obligations because they give up their individual freedoms for the greater good of the society as a whole.
In a collectivist culture, family obligations such as marriages, rituals, family gatherings, etc. are practiced devotedly. Therefore, it becomes necessary for individuals to perform each obligation without fail.
Whereas in individualist cultures, emphasis is laid on individual's interest and freedom from any social obligations.
