A 1010-kg car is held in place by a light cable on a very smooth (frictionless) ramp. The cable makes an angle of 31.0º above the surface of the ramp, and the ramp itself rises at 25.0º above the horizontal. Draw the location and orientation of your vectors.

Answer:

We can draw all vectors in the coordinate system.

But, first we need to know what vectors are involved in the problem.

Notice that the car is on a ramp with 25°. Then the cable makes an angle of 31°. That cable is exerting a tension force T.

Also, we have the vertical weight of the car, which is a vector against the ramp, and the normal force which is equal and opposite to the weight vector.

Additionally, we have a force due to friction (against the movement) and the horizontal vector of the weight.

Therefore, the image attached shows all these force vectors.

Notice that the weight is divided in two other vector, that's because the car is on a ramp, where the weight force is not neight parallel nor perpendicular to the ramp.
