Jocasta begs before Oedipus to stop his search for Lauis' murderer because his search can bring a devastating effects in their lives.
She begs before Oedipus after:
"finally realizing Oedipus' true identity"
When Jocasta gets to know about Oedipus' real identity, she pleads him nit to search for the truth. She doesn't wants Oedipus to know that he himself had murdered his father and married his mother. When Oedipus heard the way her husband, Laius was killed, he became conscious that he was the one who killed him. This was a prediction already done by oracle that the death of Lauis will only be attempted by his own son. Tiresias said to Oedipus that only after becoming blind that he will be able to see the truth.
