Economic issues have played a significant role in the widespread poverty and dissatisfaction. The strong economic indicators of years past in South America have weakened and they basically no longer exist. Many countries are now showing low GDP increases and higher unemployment. Even Chile is experiencing a decline in what used to be a great economic outlook.
