eextraneous solutiosn are solutions such that when substituted to the original equation, the equation becomes invalid. In this case,

|4x+3| = 9 + 2x is
4x+3 = 9  +2x
2x = 6
x = 3

4x+3 = -9 -2x
6x = -12
x =-2

Both solutions are non-extraneous
