Types of organisms
Explanation:
Unicellular organisms are those with one cell. This single cell present in them is highly specialized and acts as the complete functional unit of the organisms and performs all the functions like feeding, digestion, excretion and reproduction. Amoeba, bacteria are unicellular organisms.
Multicellular organisms are those organisms with more than one cell. The multiple cells are grouped together according to their structure and function to perform all the simple and complex functions of the body. Algae, fungi, insects, birds, animals and many more and humans are all multicellular organisms. In higher level of multicellular organisms, the cells are further differentiated into tissue and organ level system.
Prokaryote is an organism with a simple cell type without a true nucleus. They lack any membrane-bound cellular organelles. The nuclear component is present in the form of a single strand of chromosome in a nucleiod. Algae, bacteria are prokaryotes.
Eukaryote is an organism with a complex cell with a true nucleus. These organisms have cells with many membrane bound organelles each performing its own function. They have a true nuclear structure which contains the genetic material bound by the nuclear membrane. Animals, humans are eukaryotes
An autotroph is an organism that makes its own food. Plants are autotrophs since they can produce their own food.
A hetertroph is an organism that consumes other organisms for food because they cannot produce their own food through photosynthesis. They are the secondary and tertiary consumers. Herbivores, carnivores and omnivores are all heterotrophs.
