A prime number is a number that can only be multiplied my 1 and itself. A prime number has no real factors other than 1 and itself. For example: 25 is NOT a prime number because 5*5= 25 , and 25*1=25 so there are other numbers other than itself that are factors. A number that has factors other than itself is called a composite number. It is the opposite of a prime number.
