On 9/11, terrorists attacked buildings in New York and Washington, D.C. Almost 3,000 people
were killed. The people of the United States United to respond to the attack. The United States
government created the Department of Homeland Security to keep the country safe from future
attacks. The U.S. went to war against terrorists in countries that supported terrorists. Other
countries also sent soldiers to fight the terrorists.

What are two ways the attack on Fort Sumter and the 9/11 attack are different? What are two
ways they are alike?

difference 1 would be that they were both in different time periods, fort Sumter took place in 1861 and was considered the beginning of the civil war. But for 9/11 happened in 2001 and started wars against terrorists in the middle east

difference 2 would be that during for Sumter the south didn't want to kill any of the unions troops and there was only one death and that was when a defected musket fired and hit the user of the musket, but for 9/11 it was meant to kill and hurt people of the us in which case it did killing thousands of people.

similarity 1 could be the attacking side for both events were both considered terrorists with the south seceding from the union to form its own country and terrorists in the middle east trying to take over and strike fear into others so they can become their own country without other budding in.

similarity 2 could be that with each event the USA or union went to war due to each event and had many struggles with each war with deaths in the thousands
