1950 was a very important year for African American families as they got segregation to end, for example black children and white children were allowed to go to the same school and recieve better education. They were also allowed to go to the same hospitals,toilets, restaurants and etc.
It was the year that the American government realised what they were doing was wrong and it was not acceptable, that is thanks to Martin Luther King and Malcolm X as they showed the world how African Americans struggled in everyday life and were discriminated.
