• It also absorbs fats from the digestive tract, the lymph comprise fluids from the intestines, which comprise proteins and fats and transports it back to the bloodstream.
• It also helps in protecting the body against the foreign pathogens. It produces and discharges white blood cells and other immune cells, which monitor and then eradicate the foreign invaders.
• The thrombocytes or the platelets are not produced by the lymphatic system, they are formed in the bone marrow, that is, the sponge-like tissue within the bones.
Thus, production of lymphocytes is not a function of the lymphatic system.
