Explanation: The company Sony partnered with Toppan Printing (a company from Japan) to make a different sort of disc with the same quality of that of a Blu-ray disc. The reason for the invention of the Blu-ray disc was to create better data usage because the Blu-ray disc stores data using a blue laser rather than a red laser like normal disc. However since, Blu-ray discs contain a limited material such polycarbonate plastic which is derived of oil, Sony decided to make a paper disc instead. Using paper instead of polycarbonate plastic, they made a product that was both recyclable, less harmful to the environment and capable of achieving the quality of that of a Blu-ray disc. The materials are also cheaper to obtain and make.
