Blank verse always written in Iambic pentameter and is also known to be the most influential form of English poetry post 16th century and around three-quarters of all of the English poetry is blank verse. The first available use of Blank verse in English was used by Henry Howard, who was Earl of Surrey.
He was the one to use the Latin original as classical Latin verse but rhyme as not used in those classics. Many also say that Henry Howard was inspired by the Ancient Greek verse as rhyme was also not used in Ancient Greek verse. In recent times, blank verse has become a staple of lyrical poetry and it is prominent in today’s scenario then it has even been in the last three hundred years.
