There are many cases in which race has made it harder to obtain a scholarship, buy a new home, find a good-paying job, and many other everyday necessary actions. There are often cases of police being called on Black-Americans for doing normal everyday things such as going to the grocery store or cutting grass. Race can influence one’s ability to find a job or even the amount they are paid. While at first, this may not seem like it is that much of an issue, it can affect the overall economic outcome of that person’s life. Economic stratification is the condition where social classes are separated. Racial discrimination can often play a role in the separation of social classes and has many times throughout history. In these specific incidences, economic stratification does occur as a result of racial discrimination. Due to the difference in pay, or the difficulty to find a job, it places them into a sometimes never-ending cycle of lower-class living and a lifetime of barely making ends meet. It is even said that the working class will be considered a minority by the year 2032, which will be made up of mostly Black-Americans. Racial discrimination has been a problem for a very long time. The United States of America has come very far since the civil war, as well as the world itself. In 2020 it’s easier to work yourself out of the cycle racial discrimination can cause.
