Answer: For example, suppose we use 2 as a subsitute for x,

               If [tex]\frac{2}{2} =1[/tex]

      Then    [tex]\frac{2^1}{2^1}=1[/tex]

               [tex]2^{1-1} =1[/tex]

               [tex]2^{0}=1[/tex]

Therefore any number or pronumeral, (including x) to the power of 0 equals 1.
