The main purpose of Thomas Paine's "The American Crisis", or, to be more precise, its Pamplet No 1 was to list all the reasons that justify the fight against the tyrant Britain.

Written in the period of American War for Independence, it was well recieved among people and encouraged them to take actions.

Dealing with Britain's injustice treatment of America, this pamphlet compares their relation to the one of slaveholder and slave and using those specific words it enhances the feeling of anger directed to denying rights, mistreatment, exploitation of resources, paying high taxes and limiting people's freedom.
