The correct answer should be their fast reproduction cycle. If not treated, bacteria reproduces very very fast because it has asexual reproduction so they just multiply. That's why you usually need to take antibiotics to kill them because antibiotics work against them. However, they're also evolving and adapting and slowly becoming impervious to antibiotics.
