and Amy=x

ATQ

x+y = $29

It is given that jon spend 5 more than Amy. SO he spend

x +5

x+y = $29
x+x+5=$29

2x = 29-5

2x= 24

x = 24/2 =12

So Amy spend $ 12 and Jon spend x+5 = 12+5 = $17
