This vitamin is known as vitamin B6. PLP is an acronym for the active form of this vitamin called pyridoxal 5'-phosphate. This form serves as a coenzyme in many enzyme reaction in amino acid, glucose, and lipid metabolism. There are several forms of this vitamin that are known such as Pyridoxine, Pyridoxal , Pyridoxamine and pyritinol.
