Simile uses like or as to compare and contrast two different objects, while an analogy compares two objects by comparing them too other objects. An example of a Simile includes "The Pan was as hot as the Sun" and an example of an analogy includes Puddle - Ocean and Pile of Rocks/Gravel - Mountain.

Hope this helps! Tried my best. If it does may I have brainliest! :) Thanks!

Answer:

The most relevant distinction between a simile and an analogy is the simile offers a comparison with the use of 'like' and 'as' while an analogy compares two distinct things in order to clarify and explain the meaning of a complex or unfamiliar term by comparing it to a familiar thing or term. Simile intends to propose a direct and explicit comparison before the readers while an analogy considers the resemblance between two distinct things and imposes an affiliation between the two intending to clarify meaning and explain the connection between them on the basis of a single commonality. In fact, the simile is a type of analogy. For instance;

'She is shining like a star'. - simile

Here, the girl has been compared to the star on the basis of the 'dazzle' they have. Therefore, here it is both a simile and an analogy.
