Compare the function of chloroplasts and mitochondria in a cell. In your response, include:
a) The name of the process that occurs in each organelle
b)The products of each process
c)The importance of each process to the cell

Respuesta :

Answer:

Chloroplasts are disc-shaped organelles found in the cytosol of the plant cell. They have green color pigments named chlorophyll that capture sunlight during photosynthesis. During photosynthesis, plant collects the energy from sunlight and produce sugar with the help of carbon dioxide. This sugar is helpful to pants for growth, respiration and other functions.

Mitochondria are oval-shaped, double-membrane structures that suspended in the cytosol of the animal and plant cells. They are energy factories also known as a powerhouse of the cells. During cellular respiration, they make energy currency, ATPs (adenosine triphosphate) using chemical energy from sugar. that capture energy by metabolizing the molecules.

Both play an important role in the electron transport chain to produce energy in the form of ATP. ATPs allows the cell to store energy and transport it within the cells to perform various chemical reactions.
