She didn't want to hear the opinion of both side. She has determined a conclusion by choosing a little part of what is already know to give a summary of what is unknown. Daria may actually be the one to address her questions, because he may have read an article on minority race issue. Though Jose is Hispanic, he may not know much about the issue.

Jane's claim is worthy and reasonable because, Jose being a Hispanic is more likely to know much about the issues in minority race more than Daria who is not a person of color. Jose also fall in the category of minority race, so he should know much about that.
