Answer:

Genetic drift

Explanation:

Genetic drift can also be referred to allelic drift. This can be caused as a result of various reasons.

Let's take for instance in humans, a large population of black women in region A migrating to a white dominated region B. There is a high chance of these black women getting married to the white men in region B, and hence give birth to children with diverse allelic frequencies; over time these children born, continue to reproduce and might lead to very few totally white people.

Changes in allele frequency due to random inheritance of alleles from one generation to the next is termed as genetic drift.

• The random fluctuations in the numbers of gene variants in a population is illustrated by genetic drift.

• It takes place when the occurrence of the alleles, that is, the variants forms of a gene, decreases and enhances by chance with time.

• These changes in the existence of alleles are determined as changes in allelic frequencies.

• Generally, genetic drift takes place in small populations, where inconsistently occurring alleles encounter with a greater probability of getting lost.

Thus, the term that illustrates changes in allele frequency due to random inheritance of alleles from one generation to the next is genetic drift.
