According to Junior the worst part of being poor is having one's dreams deferred or forever forgotten. His parents had to give up their dreams because they were poor. In spite of that,he loves his family and is proud of their accomplishments. Rowdy, in the other hand, does not feel that way with his father, who often beats him. Instead, he takes Junior as his family.
