$m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}$    And plug in the two points

(-3, 6) = (x₁, y₁)

(4, -2) = (x₂, y₂)

$m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}$

$m=\frac{-2-6}{4-(-3)}$   [two negatives cancel each other out and become positive]

$m=\frac{-2-6}{4+3}$

$m=\frac{-8}{7}$    The slope is $-\frac{8}{7}$
