I live in the UK and speak English and conversational Welsh, one of the minority languages spoken in the UK.
Welsh is I believe unusual in that the beginning of the word changes according to its use in the sentence. This is called mutation.
For exampl:e The bridge is 'Y pont' , but on the bridge is 'ar y bont'. Pont mutates to bont.
A boy is 'Bachgen' whereas My boy is 'fy machgen'.
There are quite a few more .
I was wondering whether is unique or there are other languages in which this occurs?
