Answer: glucose molecules.

Explanation: cellular respiration is a process by which glucose molecules are broken down in the presence of oxygen into carbon dioxide and water with the concomitant release of energy in form of ATP. The equation for cellular respiration is C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O + Energy.

Cellular respiration is divided into four stages:

1). The breakdown of glucose into two molecules of pyruvate.

2). The conversion of pyruvate to Acetyl CoA.

3). The oxidation of acetyl CoA in the Krebs cycle to produce ATP, FADH2 and NADPH and;

4). The oxidation of FADH2 and NADPH in the electron transport chain to generate more ATP.
