Find the magnitude of the impulse delivered to a soccer ball when a player kicks it with a force of 1450 N . Assume that the player's foot is in contact with the ball for 5.70×10−3 s .

Respuesta :

To solve this problem we will apply the concept of Impulse. Which is described as the product between the Force and the change in time. Mathematically this can be described as

[tex]I = F \Delta t[/tex]

Where,

F = Force

[tex]\Delta t[/tex]= Time

Our values are given as,

F = 1450N

[tex]\Delta t = 5.1*10^{-3} s[/tex]

Replacing we have,

[tex]I = (1450)(5.1*10^{-3})[/tex]

[tex]I = 7.395Kg\cdot m/s[/tex]

Therefore the impulse delivered to the soccer ball is [tex]7.395Kg\cdot m/s[/tex] or  [tex]7.395N\cdot s[/tex]
