The process of conversion of DNA into mRNA is called transcription and the process of formation of proteins from mRNA is called translation. The genetic information is present in the sequence of nucleotides that are present in the  DNA.

These nucleotides form the triplet codon in the mRNA and each triplet codon codes for a particular amino acid during translation.
