It may depend on the subject and logic of an argument , for you to be convinced or persuaded by the subject it will also depend on the knowledge of the speaker regarding the subject. Logic refers to whether it makes sense to the listener.
critical thinking can be broken into 4 parts
Sensing - This is when we receive the words of what is being said which calls us to listen attentively with no disturbances.
Interpretation- This is when we decode the message which are dependent on individual schemata.
Evaluation- after we have decoded the argument now we can evaluate all the facts that are presented to us.
Assignment- after evaluating the argument a person may then decide on the worthiness of the argument whether it is truthful,logical, rational or it is weak,illogical and unworthy.
