Social Media can be an addiction; like alcohol, too much is bad for you and others around you. Because now you only look down at your phone or at a computer not interacting with people outside of the screen.
It is difficult to stop and it is almost impossible (Almost)
What you need to do if you do want to stop is sell or through away whatever smartphone you own and go get a phone meant for just calling and then keep away from computers(unplug it if need be).
If you are willing after a long time, going with out all these things. You could go back, but only in moderation.
