given that : x=4 and y=8

first divide 48 with 4 we get 12 ( 48/4=12 ) so we know that 4*12=48 so it is obvious that we should multiply y which is 8 with 12 also, which equals 96        ( 8*12=96 )

so y is 96 when x is 48
