Direct democracy or pure democracy is a form of democracy in which people decide on policy initiatives directly. This differs from the majority of currently established democracies, which are representative democracies.

Direct democracy is a form of democracy in which everyone has an equal say in the actions of the government. Essentially, everybody votes on everything the government does.

Although this seems like a great idea (Yay! Equal representation!), Direct Democracy is extremely slow.

I'm sure you know about how long it takes for Congress to pass a bill. There's only 485 people in Congress, so imagine how long it'd take if there were millions of people voting on the bill!
