So it is confusing I know I need to subtract the smaller X but there’s three X’s in this equation I’m not sure I fix this

If there are multiple Xs you have to combine the Xs one the same side. For example, if you had 5x+6-2x=4x because 5x and -2x are on the same side you combine them first then proceed to subtract whichever x is smaller.

Side note: this equation is just an example, I don't think it has an actual answer.
