During his tenure, Jackson made it clear that he saw the Native Americans as savages clogging progress. He arranged settlements with tribes while setting up friends to take their land.  

He encouraged persecution of villages of the Seminole people, burned houses and expelled inhabitants. All in the name of “national security” and “self defense”.

Andrew Jackson was the president of the removal of the Native Americans and the Teardrop Path, and forced pilgrimage of various tribes to remote and unknown regions.

Even with all the atrocities Jackson came to be seen as an American hero. After all, he conquered Florida
