President Theodore Roosevelt or Teddy Roosevelt, was very sickly when he was a little boy. He suffered from weakness and trouble breathing including asthma. But instead of giving in to this weakness, he fought hard, exercised hard, and devoted himself to learning. It looks like the fact that he had to work so hard just to survive carried on to his adult life.

As an adult, he continued to work very hard. He spent a lot of time with his children, and continued to study his entire life. He wrote a lot as well as read a lot. He loved to hike, enjoyed humor, practiced the martial art of Judo, he hunted, and enjoyed swimming. He had many other hobbies. His approach to life was impacted by how hard he had to work as a child in order to overcome his illnesses.
