1) (1,2) translated two units to the left would be (-1,2)...right? "Translated two units left..." means move horizontally - the negative x direction - 2 units.
"Reflect over the x-axis" means you pretend the point (-1,2) is fastened to the x-axis by a pivoting rod and you just flip it over the horizontal... the x-axis. You'll end-up at (-1,-2)
2) (2,-4). Let's see: over 2 units to the right, down 4 units. Flip it over the x-axis: (2,4)
3) The mid-point will be the point with (x,y,z) values equal to the average of the given 2 x's (7 and -3... the average is 2), the 2 y's (3 and 1 => a y-value of 2) and the average of the 2 z's ( -4 and 0 yield an average of -2) The mid-point is (2,2,-2)
4) Just increase the y-value by 3: You get (2,2)
5) Every coordinate value becomes 3 times the original. (5,-1) becomes (15, -3)
6) (5,2) translated down 4 units is (5,-2. (5,-2) translated translated left 1 unit is (4,-2)
hope this helps
