Answer and then please explain what I do with the 3 and the 8.

3 1/2*8 2/3=91/3 
 
U have to convert mixed fraction to improper fraction so have do 3*2+1=7/2 and 8*3+2=26/3 then u have to cross multiply.

so therefore,the answer is 91/3 or 30 1/3.
